Abstract Logos - A Closer Look
Abstract logos can be seen here, there, and everywhere. An abstract logo gives a great variety to companies. If they are well done, and have creative aspects, abstract logos can be of the highest caliber. They can be put on business cars, brochures, commercials, websites, and really, all over the place. A good example of an industry which uses abstract logos often, would be the car industry. Take a look at all the logos, Toyota’s logo, Infinity’s logo, Mercedes’ logo, etc… These logos or images look quite familiar, and at an instant are recognizable. Though now you may not see them as abstract logos, the first time you saw them you probably did. Many factors are included when defining your logo, or image of your business. You want to make sure it has slick style, elegance, and a high impact.

As with other logos, you want to confirm your logo has a good font type, great colors, and a creative illustration; while still captivating your target audience. Simplicity in your logo can be quite attractive. You do not need a logo which seems like an image out of a trick book, where the client if left staring at it as if it were a kind of mind game. Therefore, keep it simple, not too complicated. The simplicity also ads to the fact that the logo can be easily reproduced and recognized. Unless you insist, keep away from muddy colors and too many colors. Again, you don’t want to leave the client trying to figure out your logo. Not convinced that abstract logos are worth a try? Think of the logos Adidas and Nike. They both have abstract logos that are greatly distinguishable around the world at a glance. Both logos are catchy, and quite simple and have black and white colors.

Here is an example of what I was saying earlier. Simple design, and simple colors. Size. Sizes of logos vary greatly. If you are putting your logo on a business card, you want to make sure the size is reasonable. Nobody wants to pick up a business card where you have to squint to view the logo. And, of course, do not make it too big. Though having it stand out is usually a good thing, make sure you do not over due it. And yes, detail matters. If you do not have your image in great detail, when you blow it up the pixels can be seen. If anything, that shows your consumers or clients the carefullness you have. Create your logo, or have it created, with the greatest possible resolution.

To sum it all up, abstract logos can be of great use if done properly. Have them be simple in design and color. As well as easily reconizable and effective in captivating an audience. Lastly, remember, complication is generally not good. Instead of leaving your clients inspecting a poorly made abstract logo, have them look at the logo and go “Wow, cool, I wonder how they made that.”
